CPNEB has passed away, May 10, 2010

Hey everyone.
I know that I don't post here that offen, but I wanted to pass this post on to everyone here from the FanFiction.net site about fellow writer CPNEB.

This post was added today from JA of JAKT. One of CPNEB and My dear friends. I talked to JA this morning, and he did some calling.

The following information is from that call.

According to his wife, on April 19th, CPNEB had a heart attack and was rushed
to the hospital. He is in intensive care and it is not known if he will
survive. His kidneys have failed and he is on dialysis. Due to the medication
he is receiving he is unable to speak or do much of anything.

The prognosis is not too good. If he does survive he may have to go to a
nursing home for long-term treatment and care.

Your prayers and thoughts are much appreciated in behalf of our good friend
and wonderful writer.

Not exactly the first post I'd want to have on a new forum. I'm Katsumara from ff.net (some of you may recognize me from reviews here and there)

I just received word about this, so I just had to make an account and stop by. :/ I'm so, *so* sorry to hear this. I really hope he gets well. I was just gettinga round to reading one of his stories that I hadn't before. I have so much to catch up on.. and now to hear about this. I'll definitely keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Get well soon, Nebster.

It was, however, a very elegant first post. Welcome to the forum, Katsumara. Here's to happier second and third posts! :)

Cpneb certainly has a worrying set of circumstances... I really do hope he's able to pull through on this. :unsure:

Yes, indeed, Katsumura. We are glad to have you here on the forum, despite the less than happy circumstances, and we are sad to hear about cpnebs' condition. Thanks so much for stopping by and letting us know of this development.

Thanks so much for the welcome, but let's not let the topic, which is CPNeb's health, veer off course just to welcome me. D: I just wanted to stop by and pay my respects as the guy is just a great guy.

I'm having issues with a member of my family as well, who could use some thoughts and prayers (my grandmother has cancer) so I will be praying really hard for the both of them.

It is likely the medication 'nebs is on is going to be a sedative, probably propofol. This is to keep him unconscious and therefore letting his body use as little energy as possible, sparing the heart of as much unnecessary work as is possible. If he's on dialysis, he's in acute tubular necrosis (i.e. acute kidney failure) as a direct result of the heart attack itself, a well known cause of acute kidney failure. His previous chronic medical history of multiple sclerosis will complicate his recovery. Obviously I don't have all the details, but judging from what is being said in the quote, the heart attack disabled his heart enough to put him into cardiogenic shock, a condition which has a high mortality rate. He likely is on pressor support, which means there are medicines being given just to support his blood pressure and keep it up. If we can get more information from JAKT, I can give a more informed picture of what is going on.

That's too bad, it really is. I'm sorry for him and his wife.

I wanted to post an update on cpneb's condition...

As of now, JA of JAKT and I have not heard anything more.

I'll update when I have any word.

A Great Friend, Mentor, Pal, Tremendous Writer and All Round Good Buddy Past Away - May 10, 2010

It is with great sadness that I inform the Kimmunity that cpneb, (Ben Allen Francis), passed away from this mortal existence on May 10, 2010.

His family is taking this extremely hard and just this afternoon let me know.

At their request please do not send any cards or letters to them.

Just remember our great friend as the kind and loving person he was and keep his spirit alive in your memory.

Will write more when I have a chance.
