What Reminds You of KP? #7

Two things:
1) The day before yesterday, I bought the last two cartons of cocoa-moo out of the vending machine at work for a snack during my afternoon break. :P
2) Today on my way home at work I stopped at Smarty-Mart - oops, I meant Wal-Mart - to pick up some liquid hand soap. Before I went to the check-out line to pay for my purchase, however, I took a quick walk through the bargain toy shelves to see if I could find any remaindered KP merchandise. Alas, no luck.
But I did notice something that reminded me of a comment 'chutes once made regarding the color scheme on the packaging for KP merchandise. As I walked down one row full of Barbie dolls and accessories, I understood exactly what 'chutes meant by his phrase, "pink Barbie yuck:" Pink boxes as far as the eye can see - enough to make even me say, "Yuck!" :thumbdown:

Once in a while my cell phone will get a call from a number I don't know. I don't answer these, but I will look up the number on the Internet. I just got one from someone in Kewanee, Illinois. This reminded me of "Mentor of Discontent," since that's where Frugal Lucre said the newest Smarty Mart store was opening. :D

Two more things:

1) The other day, I saw a K-Mart commercial on TV. Their animated light-bulb mascot reminded me of the Smarty-Mart "Brain" mascot on KP.
2) Today, I received two spam e-mails concerning "Mego" - that's one more than campy did. :P

Watching one of my GiTS: 2nd Gig episodes, one of the characters fleeing in a boat said,

"...We'll have company soon; head for Shegoton for the time being."

Since it's a Japanese series, I'm nearly positive it wasn't "Shegoton," but some language homophone (Shegatin, etc), but it was interesting to hear. :laugh:

I recently bought a 4 disc set of the old Looney tunes with Bugs Bunny and the associated characters. These old cartoons were made with Fritz Freeling, Charles M Jones, and of course Mel Blanc doing the voicing. They were made between 1945 to 1960 or so. These are great classic cartoons.:biggergrin:

I'm catching up on the NY Times crosswords I missed last month. In the 10/21 puzzle, the clues for 49- and 50-Down both reminded me of KP. One was "City of Lights" for PARIS, and next to it was "____ T. Firefly, Groucho's role in Duck Soup" for RUFUS.

"Hooray for Captain Spaulding, the African explorer..."

Watching "The New Ron" this morning reminded me of something I'd wanted to post last week: the doors between the pool area and the enclosed parts of Deck 10 on the cruise ship open automatically with a "whoosh." Just like Senor Senior's lair. :D

Two things today:
Last weekend while browsing at my local Borders, I saw a book titled, "Bringing Home the Birkin," about finding a certain designer handbag called a "Birkin." I had to look twice at the cover, because at first glance, I thought it said, "Bringing Home the Barkin!" :P
Today, I was visiting my buddy Mike's house, and he was talking about what a good time his little boy, Peter, had on Halloween trick-or-treating. Mike said Peter was still on a sugar buzz from all that candy when they put him to bed that night. One of our other friends jokingly asked, "Have you washed all the footprints off the ceiling yet?" Right away, I thought of little Hana running on the walls and ceiling of the Stoppable house in "Oh No! Yono!" :laugh:

A letter we had returned to us today at work because of no forwarding address had been sent out to a guy whose last name was Kimberly...
Also, in the company lunchroom, I refilled the hand soap dispenser by the kitchen sink. I put in a new refill package of "Kimcare" liquid soap from the Kimberly-Clark corporation. :P

Well, that clinches it - Middleton's in Wisconsin.

Any crazed golfers in kilts seen near the school, threatening folks with exploding golf balls? :P

Today I saw a picture of a couple of lemurs on the internet. It reminded me of how Smarty-Mart gave away a free lemur with every coffee maker they sold in the ep "Fashion Victim." :P

I was reading a post about an application that maintains a to-do list on the iPod/iPhone. The example screenshot contains items like "Pick up milk," "Return library books," and ends with "Take over the World." :laugh:

Kind of like Dementor in "Ill Suited."

Another reminder in a crossword puzzle for me. The clue "Careers, figuratively" led to the answer HATS. As in Franklin Barkin's line in "Cap'n Drakken" : "I wearest many hats. Some are bonnets."

Right before dinner, I took three bags of groceries down to our basement pantry. As I went to pick one of the bags up, my mom cautioned me: "That bag's heavy. It's got ten pounds of flour in it." Sure enough, there were two five-pound bags of flour in the grocery bag. As I took the bag downstairs, I started to chuckle to myself. I was thinking, "Hey - I've got Sacky I and Sacky II in here - or should I say Sacky and Sacky Eye-Eye?" :P

A character in the novel I'm reading used the word 'celly' for cell phone — like Monique in "Ill Suited."

Tonight's football game reminded me of KP. BC went down to Florida State, where it was Homecoming weekend, and they pulled off the Upset of the #19 Seminoles! :D

Congrats, Campy.:) BC is doing well this year. Not so, the Aggies, I'm afraid. They were drubbed this week by Baylor of all people.............Baylor!.......:cry:.....41-21. More and more, I want this year to simply go away as far as the Ags are considered. It's been totally a bomb........:dubiety::ohwell:

EDIT: Unfortunately, how this remined me of KP is at the scene at the end of "Fashion Victim", when Kim and Monique find out Coco Banana scrapped the entire fall line and then the girls say "tears", and Coco's assistant/bodyguard guy starts to cry...........I need that guy right now........:mad:

No, but we had season tickets and drove in from Western Mass for every home game. We even took the alumni association trip down to New Orleans to see them lose to Tulane that year. :(

Getting back on-topic here:
Today at work, one of our managers told my boss, Kevin, that he (the manager) would be flying down to Houston tomorrow on business. He also said he'd be paying a visit to a business acquaintance of Kevin's who lives down there. When asking the manager to say hello to Kevin's acquaintance in Houston, Kevin referred to him as "Old Iron Toe." My first thought upon hearing that was, "Does he also know someone named Pain King?" :P

Yesterday I shopped at a large pet supplies store that had an aisle full of items for ferrets. Fearless ferrets, perhaps?

Today at work, I mailed an invoice out to a store named "Tool World." It reminded me of "Planet Tool," from where Drakken and Motor Ed stole that "ultimate toolkit" in "Steal Wheels." :P

Tonight on the Food Channel, my mom was watching a show about a baking competition. One of the contestants made a cake with chocolate ganache as one of its ingredients. Naturally, that reminded me of the vat of ganache that Drakken tried to dunk Kim and Wade in during the climactic scene of "Odds Man In." :P

I had a KP reminder from a novel I'm reading. There's a chapter titled "____ is a bad muther... Shut your mouth!" (The book is written almost entirely in very informal language.)

This reminded me of "The Golden Years," where Kim & Drakken had almost the identical exchange.

That's OK: I was reminded of that scene as I was listening to the "Theme from 'Shaft'" by Isaac Hayes on my CD player tonight (which is what inspired Kim and Drakken's lines in the first place:P).

I took a driving class on Tuesday and we were shown some videos that reminded me of "Ghost Car" from Car Trouble.

I'm three for my last three books with KP reminders now. On page 165 of Bump & Run by Mike Lupica, there's a reference to the "power of imagination." :D

The other day at work, I mailed an invoice to a realtor named Nathan Katz. Reminded me of a certain rabbi we all know in Middleton....:laugh:

Earlier today, I was thinking about the Pope's "going green" by installing solar panels on St. Peter's (and Stephen Colbert attacking him for it.)

It made me think of Kim showing SSS all that energy-saving stuff in "The New Ron."

That really is a poor reference. This is a better one. And the fact that she was a Russian defending her homeland against an invader does not justify calling her a "dirty Godless commie". This is vulgar and an insult and Cody should apologize for it.
