Nice, cool and sunny.
Starting to get cold on the mornings now. It was 30 degrees this morning. only got up to about 56 after.
Decent frost this AM.
About 3 or 4 inches of snow fell yesterday. Today it was sunny and cold.
It's been raining like crazy here in Go City. The wind was actually pushing the rain against the east windows in the house, something that rarely happens around these parts. It usually comes out of the west. It's supposed to change from rain to snow tomorrow, right during the time I'm supposed to be going grocery shopping. Oh, joy - what fun..... :ohwell:
We had a very light dusting of snow today.
The forecast is for snow on Sunday, but it has been nice today.
Very wet and rainy today...............and cold. :cold:
We had sunny but cold weather today; high temps were just below freezing. It'll be cold again tonight, but slightly warmer tomorrow. They say we'll get some snow, possibly enough to accumulate, on Monday night into Tuesday. :cold:
Nice today, tomorrow have a charity event then Sunday it's snow then some rain.
We had some more cold weather here in Go City today - low to mid-teens for high temps; and some light snow. In fact, we're under a winter weather advisory until midnight local time. We can expect lake-effect snow accumulating anywhere from 2 to 4 inches until then, after which temps will dip to just 9° by 7 AM tomorrow morning. Yep, it's winter, all right.....:cold:
Light snow this morning and we have some maybe coming in Sunday through Tuesday.
God, is it cold in Texas. We're down in the low 20's. Everybody's being warned to keep their faucets at a sight drip to keep the pipes from breaking if they freeze. Unlike you Northermers, they don't wrap the pipes dopwn here. They say the temperature will hit single digits on Monday, maybe even go negative.
We're expecting snow here in Go City tonight through tomorrow. Anywhere from 1 to 6 inches accumulation, on top of all we currently have.
Right now it's 7. I spoke with one of my friends who is taking the weekend off in Hannibal, Missouri tonight and it's already below 0 there.
It's currently 5 below here in the western suburbs of Go City. Supposed to go down to -7° before sunrise. The snow we had today ended about an hour and a half before sunset, but not before leaving several inches of light, fluffy snow on top of what's already accumulated here in northern Illinois. At least it was easy to clean off my car before I went shopping today....
4 and partly cloudy.
Got some rain and a few storms, but otherwise, warm weather down here--we're in the 80s.
Still cold and it's clouded up. There is an interesting winter storm in Texas...we might see some of it.
Between 0 and -10 for at least a week with constant snowfall. Front door was drifted over a few mornings. Couple days ago I had to use the snowblower in -10 and windy weather. The electric jumper was froze up and had to be beaten with a hammer. The machine is 49 but still works real good.
It's 4 here and snowing.
Today's supposed to be in the mid to upper 80s, then we're getting a bit of cooler weather down to the 70s.
It's 2 and snowing, we won't be above freezing until the weekend.
We got a few more inches of snow up here in Go City; it's currently 5° with a wind chill of -11° and the snow is still falling! It won't let up until sometime tomorrow. We here in the western 'burbs will get less than Chicago itself, due to the lake effect (that's snow blowing directly off Lake Michigan, which usually gives more inches of snow due to the fact it's being partially fueled by the lake water). But already when you look out the windows at my place, you'd never know my brother & I shoveled and plowed our walks and driveway around 5 PM local time. All the progress we made has been wiped out. *sigh*
One of these days when the pandemic is over I need to go to Chicago to see Zelinsky guitars. (It's in the northern part of Chicago).
Warm here; up into the 40s with rain early.
It's 13 here and supposed to snow in the morning for those poor commuters. One good thing though is my jury duty was canceled.
I haven't been on since Sunday, since my electric went out. Didn't get it back steady until yesterday. There's snow on Galveston Beach. Can you believe that? This is the first time snow has stuck on the ground around here for more than thirty years, and even then it only lasted a couple of days. This time it's been a whole d*mn week! And it's still here. We don't have snow plows. There's no reason to have them around here. We were watching tractors with scoops clear the streets. Unbelievable. No wonder it's crazy. This could never have been predicted. Night time temps are still arounf 18-21 degrees, only getting up to the high 20's during the day. It got dangerous at work with the power off. We have back up generators, but they only provide emergency power for feeding tube pumps and vents and lights, not heat. Some of the units were without heat and we had to move residents to other units where we still had heat. Fortunately, that only lasted a couple of days. We had everybody back home yesterday.
Dyke (CajunBear) told me all about it, he has a standby generator most because of his job. It clicked on when the internet went down. A lot of southern states have not hardened their resources for a hopefully once in a decade snow/ice storm and it showed. Missouri never had snow removal equipment until after the winter of '78. They learned their lesson when the whole dang state turned into an ice cube.
We still have cold weather, temps below freezing, and more snow forecast for tonight! Between 1 & 3 inches is what I heard. But the temperature is slowly rising, and by Sunday, we should have temps above freezing. That'll start melting off a lot of what we've got piled up around here. We've got snow piled a good 2-3 feet high along the curbs after the plows have been though. I even had to dig a notch - a sort of shelf - in the snowbank on our parkway where I could put our trash cans each week for pickup. That way, we don't have to haul them into and out of our driveway apron to get our cars out, nor will we put the cans in the street where other drivers could hit them (and then sue us).
Tell you this much, though: our new furnace works real well - I haven't had to throw my down comforter on my bed once this winter - not even during the recent sub-zero temperatures! I've been quite comfortable under my two blankets and a sheet (although the floor still gets cold at night).
We're getting more snow tonight. We also got some last night. No big accumulation expected, though.
temps will be in the 40s and 50s this weekend. Sure the nights will be colder, but it's warming up.
Warming up here, some light rain. Most of the snow is off the roof.
We're in a warming trend now after a couple of days of relatively cool weather.
Yup, today and tomorrow should be nice.
Yep. Got up to high 60's today. Only about 25 at night. No more snow.
It's not going to get to freezing tonight and all the snow is out of the driveway. One more warm day and the snow on the north side of the roof will be gone.
Went above freezing today; scraped some residual ice off the driveway before spreading more "salt" on some stubborn patches. It'll be like this for the rest of this week. I think in the next day or two, I'll run my car through a car wash just to get the road salt & bird droppings cleaned off. No sense in washing it while it was so cold out - as it was, I had a few instances of my door locks freezing up!
The driveway is dry, tomorrow I might get the car washed.
Warm & mostly sunny today; I noticed a lot of puddles in the streets as I ran my errands this afternoon. No flooding, of course; just the usual stuff that forms in depressions in the asphalt as the snow melts.
