I changed the bedsheets today.
Got some writing in and playing, and like I said before Jimmy1201 wants to do some beta work.
I went grocery shopping. They have a new system where you can scan items with your phone and check out without any human interaction at all. It's great!
Another ho-hum day at work. Which of course is what I prefer. I'm spending my nights now sitting at my favorite French bistro/cafe La Madeleine, writing my novel.
Got the strat back from the guitar tech and left the tele there for a set up.
Mrs. campy & I went to the warehouse club today and bought lots of stuff.
I went grocery shopping this morning. This afternoon there's an 80th birthday party for one of our neighbors.
My DAW died. I took it to the store where I bought it. The power supply died, so they are going to replace it. I should get it back on Saturday.
My temp job came to an abrupt end yesterday; the rep from my temp agency called me about 2 PM to give me the bad news. He said the reason the client gave for letting me go was because I wasn't learning the job as quickly as they liked, when in fact I was able to post shipping documents onto their Billing files easily within two hours of training. (I also took lots of notes on what they were teaching me to do, and I kept referring to those as I did the work they assigned me.) The reason my immediate supervisor gave me when I talked to him was that business was slow, and they just didn't have enough work for me to do. I tend to believe him; there were times when I spent hours just sitting in my cubicle trying to look busy. I spent a lot of time staving off boredom in as many different ways as I could. I talked to my temp rep this morning, and we agreed that there's some sort of "failure to communicate" on the part of the client with regards to just why I was let go. But that didn't affect my standing with the temp agency - my rep set about looking for a new job for me right away. In fact, he got me an interview with another client for tomorrow, at 3 PM Central time! It's another logistics company, near two of the firms I previously worked for, so I'll have no trouble finding the place. It's in a suburb just west of O'Hare, in a warehouse/industrial district that I'm very familiar with, what with all the jobs I've held in that area down through the years - and we're talking about jobs I had starting back in the summer of 1988! So I know my way about that neighborhood pretty darn well - in fact, I've already mapped out alternate routes between this new company and home in case I get the job.
Anyway, wish me luck, and maybe even say a prayer for me, because getting a new job offer within mere days of another job ending is nothing short of miraculous. It'd be even more so if I were to get hired! Well, here's hoping.....
We had our grandson over today. He mostly watched TV and played with toy cars.
After returning him to Mommy, I went to the library.
