Did get the grocery shopping done, have an appointment to get the 2nd booster tomorrow....yay.
I cleaned out my shower drain this afternoon. Wow, that thing really gets disgusting after a while.
I went to the farm to get some eggs. Then I vacuumed out the interior of my Volvo.
A quiet day. Piddled around in the garage organinzing the tool cabinet. Relaxed. Ate very little as I'm trying to lose weight.
We took a drive out to look at a house our west coast family may bid on. It has five bedrooms and in located on a dead-end street near transportation and shopping.
Very nice. A half million over asking price might just take it.
Yesterday I got my 2nd booster, arm hurt a little but had trouble sleeping over night so I got up late. Now, I am fine.
I doubt I'll bother with a 2nd shot unless I need it to enter Australia or New Zealand this summer.
The boss ordered dinner, I opted for the manicotti and salad, of course we got her exercises done
Laundry, reading, computer stuff. I also sat in on the condo board's Zoom meeting.
Computer stuff
Steady work load today, Fairly busy.
I went for a walk around the neighborhood.
Took the black guitar in for a full set up. It just doesn't feel the way it did when I got it.
Did more training on my new job today. Practiced what I learned yesterday: Printing documents off the company's computer system & e-mails, then sorting and organizing them into "packets" for different departments or personnel. Although they've gotten me access to their computer system and an e-mail account, I still don't have a desk & computer of my own.
I went out to the library and the grocery store today.
Trying to get final grade in by this evening and then a week of taking it easy and then try to rustle up an odd job or two for a little extra cash.
A cleaning at the dentist, they found something that needs work, but that's next week.
Is that job permanent, TWD? More of teh same for me. Doing the work I need to do at work. Sorting things out in my garage. Working on my novel.
I spent the morning cleaning windows and installing screens. Now I'm ready for a break.
Maids are coming...in a few minutes, guitar lesson later, wife has her last iron infusion today.
This afternoon I treated the three-meter-wide shelf unit in my loft with lemon oil ... which involved clearing all the objets d'art from all 17 shelves so I could hit every visible teak-veneered surface. It looks pretty good now considering it's about 35 years old.
We had our weekly day watching our grandson today. We took him to a local playground in the morning.
The day was quiet and fine, I got chapter 92 of book 2 of 'The Hunter' out to Dyke for editing. Got started on chapter 93. Went out to dinner tonight. All in all productive. Order some parts for my guitars too.
I vacuumed the condo. I also hooked up our Volvos to the battery conditioner to top off their charge.
I laundered our bathroom towels and did some other cleaning around the condo.
I went to America's First Public Library and borrowed a few CDs.
Done with the semester. Final grades are in and now we're in summer mode. Trying to keep the AC off as much as possible to keep the utilities bill down, but I'm not going to be able to do that much longer. The mornings have been nice and cool and it really only starts to get uncomfortable in the late afternoon and the humidity's been pretty low, but soon it'll be 90 degrees before noon and it'll be super-humid. Waiting on an online application I put in for a summer tutorial job to make a little extra money. Holding off on filing for social security until I decide to pull the trigger on my pension--I want to wait a couple more years before I do that--have to see how health looks--so far, so good. Just had an echo today and I'll know the results next week. Catch ya'll later!
I loved touring that library when I was in Boston those years ago, campy. Gradually organizing my garage. Writing a page or two here and there to the novel. Getting work done. I interviewed for a new position at my job. I'll see how it goes.
Agreed, the library in Boston is nice — but the first public library in the country (by some definitions) is the one in the town I live in, which was seeded by 116 books given to us by Benjamin Franklin.
Today I went to the grocery store and the pet supplies store, and also to the farm for eggs. Soon I will get my hair cut, and after dinner we have the annual meeting of the condo association to attend.
Got an interview with the tutorial service on Thurs. Been reading the reviews on it--it seems tailor made to what I'm looking for: Total flexibility--I can work as much as I want when I want. I'm just looking for a little something for the summer to help out with some bills. I'm not looking for a full time job with a fixed schedule. The pay's on the low side, but that's okay--for me, the flexibility is more important right now.
worked on music, kept writing and had a temporary crown put on. Tonight, have a working dinner planned as we start making preparations for 2023 investiture.
I just took a walk around the area, and counted 16 turtles at the pond. This morning we took our outdoor table out of storage and put it on the deck so Mrs. campy can repot plants out there.
I went shopping and also to the library.
Went to work. Did some charting there. Tinkered in the garage putting up a hangar for my push broom.
We're watching our grandchildren today.
Taking care of business at the Center....
Mrs. campy & I (mostly her) put out flowering plants to beautify the condo.
Trying to do some writing now.
We went to a farm for a late mother's day celebration with the grandkids and their other grandma. Lunch for all and playground for the kids.
I've just returned from the library, where I picked up a couple of CDs I'd requested from library loan.
