I've discovered the "joys" of working retail as a cashier at Target. We had soft opening last week and the grand opening was today. We're supposed to get a 15 minute break for every four hours of work, but I ended up working four hours straight until I got my 15. I then only had another 45 minutes to work. I worked eight hours four days in a row before that though...

Yeah, I've heard of that happening to cashiers, although that was mainly with WalMart workers.

    Main Page build

The main page is becoming filled out. The web pages are slowly being attached to the site over time. Hopefully they will be all on by the end of the week. I guess this was just taking longer than I thought it would or the hosting company thought it would.

    Progress report

The main page items are slowly being fitted out. Pretty soon, I think we will be able to start linking the actual ARA archive threads to these threads.

What about the colors, guys? What do you think about them? They can be changed if needed.

    Forum Comments

I like the colors myself. They give the forum a "cool" feeling (as in temperature-wise) that I find appealing. One comment, though: Can we make the username and password boxes for logging in a little bigger, in order to double-check our spelling? I'm not comfortable with the name scrolling by, only partly visible, in a little window like we have here.

I'll check into it and see if that can be done. I'm pretty sure it can be.

Reminds me of a joke I once heard:
    Q. How many bureaucrats does it take to change a light bulb?
    A. Ten - one to do the job, and the other nine to fill out the paperwork!

How my spring and summer have been

So where was I? August has been eventful here after a quiet few months. We just had a new liner put into our swimming pool, but the weather promptly turned cool so nobody's been in it yet. Looks nice though. The old liner had leaked out about half its water, and what was left was a disgusting green. Somehow on Shego it works, but pool water ... not so much.

Then my 1990 minivan broke down, so rather than repair it we opted for something a little more this century. I now drive a 2004 Toyota Avalon XLS with all the luxury options*. I picked it up Monday and so far I love it. I have a Kim Possible figure dangling from my windshield wiper control.

    * Including heated seats, lumbar support and a sunroof!
