On this date in 1961, humans first ventured into space.* It's the 47th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's historic flight.
(*) Or was it just the first time a human returned from space alive?

47 years ago today: One small step for a man; one giant kick in the kiester for American pride.

Well, let's just state that it's the first publically-admitted-to human-launched flight into space containing a human that returned to the planet alive.
How's that for leaving the options open, campy?

"Thus always to tyrants."
You can find the definition at the end of my FF.net profile. Basically, ether it or the shortened version of it - Sic Semp Ty - is my catch phrase, like Kim's "What's the 'sitch?" or the Cylon's "By your command." Interesting note: Tyrannus is actually spelled with an 'I' not a 'U', but since that's the way I pronounce it that's the way I spell it too.

Hmmm, that's what a wikipedia search came up with as well...
As an Oklahoman, I should probably be offended by it, seeing as how Tim McVeigh wore on a T-shirt while he was killing innocent people, many of which were children, but, eh, no big, I guess.

Yeah, well the phrase was also said by John Wilkes Booth and Brutus too, but that doesn't make it any less perfectly representative of my world views. So, yeah, I think I'm going to keep saying it.

I guess you won't be visiting Virginia, then. It's their motto.
