Diving back into Vista
Well coming to terms that may dad's getting a new computer here soon and I think that the few programs that I had that didn't work that I need to work may work now because of version upgrades. So i'm going to install vista again so i can get familiar with it so if my dad has a problem I can fix it. Well here I go... Later

Yeah, when I got my free copy a while back when windows offered a free upgrade to vista if you bought a new computer late of last year. Long story short it turned out to be a nightmare. All the programs except one were to be removed before the upgrade took place and they all said they would work find with Vista.... (buzzer) that was a wrong answer... nothing seemed to work right. I even tried a fresh install with just vista... most of the programs wouldn't install so I said the hell with it and came back to XP. With my dad getting a new desktop soon I've got to at least semi get familiar with the setup and format. It's very doubtful that i'll stay with it though. My dad uses basic programs so he should have no problems with Vista, I though have and use proabably 40 or 50 different programs that he doesn't so I need most/all of them to work. Oh well back to exploring around.

Vista Log #101
After installing vista the process began of loading select programs to see if they worked. I've installed about 12 programs and some of them are working fine, some we're installed but don't work, some won't install at all. I can't get the TV tuner card to work. I've installed 2 sets of drivers but the media center portion won't pick it up. You get plenty of DEP pop ups and some programs are required permission before you start it. I can actually say after about 8 hours of playing with vista not much has changed... that is it's still in dire need of a service pack, But i've got a feel for it and understand how to get things woking for what i'd need to setup when my dad gets his new computer.... as for me i'm going to turn tail and run back to XP ing
LOL
