All Things KP - Merchandise and Memorabilia
Since we don't seem to have a thread posted for discussing the commercial aspects of our Possible-philia, I figured that I'd set one up to allow folks to discuss what's out there for collectors of merchandise and memorabilia.
To start off, I'd like to post some links to recently finished ebay auctions, to give you an idea of just how hungry folks are out there to bring a bit of the show to their shelves and walls. I posted some wildly high bid KP lamps on the general thread, but there's been a few other ebay auctions that will raise the eyebrows of those who picked up these items for Disney retail price.
First off, is yet another KP lamp:
... not quite as high as the previous ones, but still more than most of us paid for it, what, 1-2 yearsa ago?!
Here's an item that was issued early in the series' history, and shows up occasionally for sale:
Lastly (for now), are live auctions completed for four KP limited edition production art drawings, with certificates of authenticity:
...quite a collection of both drawings, and bids!

Those drawings are really cool, and they went for a lot. The lamp seems to be popular, judging from the bids on the one above and the one posted in the other thread.

That's crazy! I've seen a lamp on ebay not even get a bid and it was exactly like that one. As for the drawing... YESH! There going for crazy amounts.

The good and bad about high KP item bids
The bizarre (although somewhat encouraging) issue about all this is that many of these bids are being made by new ebay members whose bidding history shows a decided preference for All Things KP. While they may be a bit naive in the practice of bidding (knowing the value of what you are bidding for, don't get involved in bidding wars, don't put in fantastic bids on items that show up fairly regularly on ebay, etc), their passion to acquire such items no doubt reflects their enthusiasm for our favorite show. The fact that there are new people showing up to seriously bid reflects on the expanding popularity of the show, even as we drift way from the 7/7/07 finale. Hopefully the KP collectibles market will settle down so that fans with common sense and realistic revenues can get back into the bidding for some of the choicer items available.

Rrowr!
I like the sense of motion and the intensity of Kim's expression.

I think, even though the prices are outrageous for some items, that this is good for KP. It's ended and yet there's still lots of enthusiasm for the merchandise and show in general. That is amazing.

That last one looks similar to something Rich 'Lionheart' would draw, but it's hard to tell.

Yeah, it looks like she either just threw something hard or slugged the tar out of somebody.

It is good to see such enthusiasm for Kim Possible even after the series has ended, but - $30.79 for a bobblehead doll!?? Methinks that's a tad steep...
I just kept my eyes open everywhere I went shopping, and sometimes I'd luck out and find a real bargain - like the KP beanbag doll wearing the green top & capris that I picked up for a buck at a discount store in Columbus, Ohio. Or the Ron Stoppable beanbag doll wearing his red jersey that I found, untagged and slightly dirty, on a shelf in a Toys-R-Us near my home. They sold him to me for under $5.00, IIRC.
