It's much more complicated than that, Cody. There were a lot of good things we were able to accomplish with the ARA, including certain traditions. It was just unfortunate that the ARA was controlled in the end by one really bad apple. While I am aware Phil Literate had a particularly bad reputation with the other boards, including FFnet, and I am not denying that in some ways it was deserved, he really did contribute a lot to the community that the ARA was. So it wasn't that black and white where he was concerned. He may have instigated some of the bad blood, but it certainly didn't excuse the attacks and damage caused by many of the people in those other boards on the ARA, including hacking attacks, and denial of service lock-ups. They did far worse to us than ARA did to them.

It was the main reason ARA had to create the original queue system which was so hated. It was the only way to prevent the ARA from being destroyed by those outside hackers at the time. We don't use it now because GJA uses a much better software package that pretty much negates any need for such a system. But the queue system in and of itself was not the problem at the end. It was that it was being abused by EP.

As for EP, he is another matter altogether and pretty much fits the description you have given him as far as we are concerned. The rest is history, as I hope you have surely read in the introduction forum at the top of the main forum page.

Wow, a burgeoning society, martial law, terrorist attacks, a totalitarian dictatorship, and a mass exodus preceding the the founding of new homeland, you people sure have an interesting history (You could probably write a book on it ).

Yes, we are a community with a long history for more than three years, although I confess I am the latest joiner of that group which ultimately left the ARA. But there were indeed good times........good times..........

It would make an interesting story to tell for sure.
