    For the Victims of OKC

13 years and Appx. 12 hours ago. A horrible fate struck Oklahoma City. As a result, 168 people, to many of them children, lost their lives. Please remember them as you go through the rest of your night. Thank you.

Just one note, Ran, it was actually 168 people who lost their lives that tragic day.

So much stuff seems to happen in April. Is it because the seasons are changing and things are in turmoil?

I feel bad that when I first saw "OKC," I thought "OK Corral."

Don't worry, 'chutes; I didn't even realize what Ran meant at all by "OKC" until I read his post and remembered that today was the anniversary of that terrible event.
Thankfully, justice was served. One of that crime's perpetrators was put to death; and the other was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Geez, I'm an Oklahoman. That number should be burned into my memory. Okay, well, I edited the original post for accuracy.

Side note: I've been to the OKC memorial. It's a very touching place and if you ever have the chance, I beg you to go. It is a fantastic way to remember both the innocent people that were killed a pointless death, and a reminder to those who survived and had their lives changed forever because of it.

To this day, people still leave trinkets and things of that nature on the fence that lines the memorial. Even I have done so.

You are right, Ran. I've been there myself, and it is very moving.

It is a great memorial. Just walking around the place brings out emotions you don't know you have, at least that strongly. I was three when the OKC bombing occurred and I still remember the news story from that day, albeit it is slightly vague. People pretty much everywhere in Oklahoma were panicking that day because of it. I remember my dad telling me later how moneygrubbing convenience store owners took advantage of that. They charged five dollars per gallon. My dad remembers because he bought gasoline that morning about twenty-five minutes before the bombing.
