    "Ride of the Valkyries" from Die Walküre by Richard Wagner. The United States Marine Band conducted by William F. Santelmann in 1984.

    (Mr. Santelmann, a former Marine Band director, died backstage just a few minutes after this live concert recording was made.)

    Overture to the 1846 operetta Dichter und Bauer (Poet and Peasant) by Franz von Suppé. Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops from a Telarc CD.

    (Parts of this overture can be heard in some old Disney cartoons.)
