What celebrities have you met?
Over in the "Star Trek" thread of the "Test Forum for Other Fandoms," campy mentioned how his daughter and her BF met Leonard Nimoy, who was here in Go City the other day on a personal appearance. That got me thinking about all the celebrities I've met in my life. So I thought I'd start this thread where we could share our experiences of meeting famous folks.
Here's my list of celebs I've met:
Harry Volkman (Local TV weatherman here in Go City)
Jack Brickhouse (Sports announcer on WGN-TV for many years, esp. Cubs games)
Grace Lee Whitney (Yeoman Janice Rand on “Star Trek”)
James Doohan
Merritt Buttrick
Leonard Nimoy
Mark Lenard
George Takei
Mary Lou Retton (1984 Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics)
Kerri Strug (1996 Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics)

Patricia Tallman (Actress, “Babylon 5”)
Richard Biggs (Actor, “Babylon 5”)
Jerry Doyle (Actor, “Babylon 5”)
Mira Furlan (Actress, “Babylon 5”)
Barry Manilow
Deborah Gibson
David Weber (Author of the “Honor Harrington” SF novels)
David L. Palmer (SF author)
Eartha Kitt
Frederick Pohl (SF author)
Harlan Ellison (SF author)
Stephen Furst (Actor, “Babylon 5” and “National Lampoon’s Animal House”)

Lesley Visser of CBS Sports was my cheerleading partner the night BC opened their football season vs. Texas in 1974.
Then she quit the squad.
It wasn't my fault, I swear.
I met and got an autograph from NY Governor (later Vice-President) Nelson Rockefeller at a campaign stop in my home town in 1966.
I shook hands with MA Governor (later Dem. Presidential nominee) Mike Dukakis at a parade.
I took drivers ed in summer school with actor/comedian Larry Miller.
EDIT:
Leonard Bernstein, classical musician
Will Shortz, NY Times Puzzle Editor
Arthur "Punch" Sulzberger, former NY Times publisher

I saw Van Cliburn play in the 1960's shortly after he won the Gold Medal in Moscow, and got to shake his hand. I was about ten years old at the time, trying to be the budding classical pianist I never quite accomplished. I once stood in line behind Roger Staubach as we got onto a plane headed from Dallas to Chicago.....didn't talk to him or anything though...
Meh.....that's about it.

I met a bunch of people at the Salt Lake Olympics... One of the advantages of living in the host city (at the time)...
At the Today Show taping, I stood in line behind ER's Anthony Edwards at the resort's Krispy Kreme. Although I didn't know who he was, my mom did. We shook hands and hugged.
After that I met/hugged Matt, Katie, and Al. Katie and I exchanged Olympic pins.
I've also met with John Green, an author/minor internet celebrity (vlogbrothers).

Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp of Rent fame.
Tamyra Gray, of American Idol and Rent.
That's about it. I had the opportunity to meet the Jonas Brothers at a concert in which they were doing signings (in 2007) but my friends and I didn't take that opportunity and we regret it.

I'm not sure if he counts as a celebrity, but I once escorted Lord Mountbatten at a NATO function.

No-one that I can remember, but I think that's true of most people.
