    New Kim Possible Series?

    Hey folks,

It's been a while since I've stopped by this site... hope everyone is doing well.

    So, to the point:

I've been picking up a fair amount of extra cash recently working as technical advisor/extra for the movie industry... Today I'm on-set at Universal, and I strike up a conversation with one of the production assistants about various insider gossip. After a while, the conversation somehow makes it's way to cartoons and my old favorite, KP, comes up...

Anyhoo, long story short... the PA mentions a new Kim Possible series in the works that's "some sort of prequel or season 0 kinda thing", and that at least Steve Loter is attached.

Is there any truth to this rumor, or is it just backlot gossip? I did some searching through the old forums (here, RS.net, etc.), but didn't find anything reputable... just a blurb on Wikipedia with a source linking me to a .de site and into another forum where Loter posted a "big announcement to follow" thread on 12/16/2008, then nothing...

Anyone here heard anything, or know where I can confirm or deny this?

    Thanks guys,

    - recon228

Hey, recon, good to see you again! How was the ME? (You were over there, right?)

We had a mention of that rumor on the board, but the thread was deleted. There doesn't seem to be much 'there' there.

Hey, good to hear that you're back. It's looking like this is mostly just an internet rumor, probably spawned by the theme attraction down in Florida.

Like the announcments and "big news" for S4 about two years ago, I'll take this with a grain of salt until someone at Disney actually comes out and confirms/rejects it.

However, this is one of the more credible things I've heard so far. RS.net deals mostly in internet rumors and email; you actually were able to talk to someone in the industry.

    BTW, welcome back, Recon!

Great to have you back, Recon!

As to your question, from what we understand, the "prequel" KP series is only a rumor. I have a feeling the PA probably heard it from the same source. Loter is busy at Nickolodeon on his other projects there, and has given no indication at all that's he's working on any KP at this time. This seems to be bosltered by the fact he has no more active ties to Disney contractually at this point. The rumor was first heard on RSnet, I believe, and may have been started from a comment Loter made on one of the RSnet chats, where I believe he mentioned that doing a prequel KP sort of thing would be interesting, or words to that effect, but I'm not 100% on that.

Heh yes just a rumor as of yet. Though it is confirmed Bob and Mark have not been in contact with Disney for some time now. Meaning if there was a project they are not involved. Which makes it...seem a little fishy. Madagascar got 39 additional episodes so Mark and Bob will be on that for quite some time.

Just my two cents hope it helps. Nice to meet you by the way ^^.

Initial examination makes it appear that this originated on a German SDS site and acquired wings from there. Given that just about everyone associated with the show is doing other things, it seems pretty unlikely at this juncture.

Jeriddian's post sums it up quite nicely - it's just a rumor; and the KP Kreators are all busy doing other projects that keep them totally occupied. So I'm afraid we can't get our hopes up for any new KP from Bob, Mark and Steve.
I, too, am glad you're back - actually, considering what's been going on over in Iraq, the phrase, "relieved that you're back" is a more accurate summary of my feelings. I was beginning to worry about you, my friend...
So again, welcome back, recon! Hope to hear from you more often now!

    Cool

Ah, gotcha... I figured that was a little too good to be true. Not all that surprising either; on-set gossip tends to twist and warp like an elementary school game of telephone, heh.

I was... just over 3 months, spent mostly in or near LSA Anaconda north of Baghdad. Can't say it was good considering it was a war zone, but all things considered I could have been in much worse. It wasn't much different from some parts of LA: dirty, sketch, and nobody spoke english. :P

The airbase itself was surprisingly well stocked with internet cafes, fast food, a movie theatre, and a pool. Most of the times I travelled outside the base, it was with a small coalition of OSI, FBI, SF, and a few OGAs just to make things interesting from time to time. The few times we had to venture by land North of the Sunni Triangle, it was always in a LAV, or if we got lucky, a Stryker.

The only time I felt truly scared was when I was offered a ride in the A/MH-6X MELB that had just arrived on base for testing, and I was dumb enough to say okay...

Remember that episode where Kim and Ron hitch a ride in that remote-operated helicopter?

...yeah, no. Not as cool as it sounds... especially when the operator in friggin’ Texas decides he doesn't like the way it's handling and sets it down in the desert about 25 north of Anaconda, leaving me sitting in the sand with a multi-million dollar attack helicopter and nothing but a .357 Sig to defend it with.

I just about **** myself when some local gentlemen armed with AKs came racing up in their janky pickup so see what was going on. Thankfully they were on our side that week, so the passenger just shot me a thumbs-up and they took off.

We also had some minor issues with Blackwater from time to time... but that was cuz some idiot let it leak that we were there investigating them. They never did anything too stupid, just posturing mainly.

Anyway, sorry I didn't stop by here sooner... I'll try to visit the forum more often from now on. It's good to see all the familiar people still here.
