The loss of Commander Argus
The KP community has suffered a great loss in Commander Argus. I learned earlier this evening when a friend called me on the phone and told me. Commander Argus was doing something he loved, riding a bike, when he was hit and killed by a car. This happened last December. Let us remember the Commander.

O, good Lord,no..................
I am so sorry to hear about that. And it was in December? Did it take that long to filter down through the web, or just to us? My heart goes out to his family. It is a most terrible loss. .......

Apparently Dave (RD) got curious about him being active for so long over at RSN then dropping off the radar so suddenly and Googled his name earlier today. The word just got out this afternoon.

Here's a story from Charlotte, NC, about Nelson Binch, aka "Commander Argus." It's especially sad that a man who loved bicycling so much died in a cycling accident.

It sounds like he was a wonderful guy. I wish I'd gotten to know him better; unfortunately, he didn't post much on our forum - only 80 posts (I just looked it up). And the GJA's the only forum I visit, so if he posted on any others I missed out on a chance to converse with him there.
My heart goes out to his widow and friends....
EDIT: Commander Argus' post count also includes what he posted on the ARA. Jeriddian confirmed that C.A. only posted a couple of times here on the GJA. My bad....

I've also made a tribute to him, featuring some of his best artwork. You can see it here.
This may be a small token of my appreciation for him, but it's the least I can do for one of the best in our community.
