We're really glad for all the interest in the fight for five group, and we wish them well in their efforts. A petition would be fine, and I think a good number of us might support that. We would love to see KP back for a season five, but the thoughts that most of us here at GJA tend to be that if KP comes back, it more likely will be as a movie. There is a thread in the KP forum which has gone into that. In the past we really haven't supported the Fight for Five group headed by elvisjj and his people. That's because we didn't agree with the approach they took. But a petition sounds fine. I wish it all the luck in the world.

I applaud their efforts. I have no problem with signing a petition. Now I don't want to put a damper on things, but I think we should be realistic about this. I note that all their efforts are still unfortunately rather underwhelming. The petition spot petition has only 2600 signers, for a goal of 100,000. The ACC has 103 members and about 6700 posts or so. The proboards board only has about 2700 posts. These are not very active boards. Sadly, these are very small numbers with which to try and bring the show back.

Let us say we could get 100,000 signatures. It might just get Disney's attention, but would it be enough to have them think about returning the show? I doubt it. It would be a huge undertaking, and most important to Disney, it would be costly. Mark and Bob are still under contract with Nicklodeon and are presently unavailable to go back to Disney to do more of the show, even if they want to do that at a later date. You would then have to reassemble the cast and crew. That was hard enough to do for season four, and they were only closed down for several months. At this point it has been years and they have all moved on. Even if we can get the show back, it would likely be very different from the KP we all know and love now. Are you willing to live with that?

While we agree with the goal of the Fight For Five, we differ in respect to their methods. As I noted, the petition drive is fine, and I think we here at GJA can support that. The problem we see with the FFF is the effort to continually send messages, emails, faxes, and other unwanted communications to various Disney executives and other media personalities. This is, in our judgement, spamming, and is totally ineffective. I can reliably tell you that 99.99% of those messages never reach their intended targets, as all of these executives and people have personal asistants that weed out this stuff. As for those emails, messages, and other such spam, those that got through only generated a negative reaction on the part of the people who received them, which is not what we want. It hurts our efforts to get the show back on the air.

Unfortunately, this far out from the end of the show, the only way KP will get back on air is going to be from the inside of the industry. That's the only way we'll see her again on the air. There are some small beginning efforts ongoing to that effect. The chances are small, but still hold some reasonable degree of success, whereas, unfortunately, none of the fan derived efforts can succeed, simply because of the nature of this business of entertainment and animation. I truly, truly wish it were otherwise. But realistically, that's simply not the case.

you do have a good point about the letters, i haven't writen any yet. but i wonder if they even get them. i should bring this up at the site.

I have tried to tell elvisjj and his people about it, but they pretty much choose not to believe me. They still believe they are being effective in what they are doing. I still wish them luck, but the reality of the sitch is still there. Writing letters in hard copy may be workable, but it's a lot of work, and without a much greater turnout, it still won't help much.

Ah, well, to be honest, I don't think Disney would hire them. Also, considering the opinion they have of Disney, they probably would refuse to do so.
