Geez! Looks like another gas war out there, of the worst kind..........

Gas has shot up to $3.55 around here.

$3.699 here in West Texas. Why is it more expensive here than in Chicago? Not usually the way it goes.

Actually, you're paying less than we are up in Go City. The cheapest gas price out by me here in the western suburbs is $4.05 a gallon - and gas in Chicago itself costs at least 20 cents higher, due to city and county taxes, in addition to state sales taxes. (Cook County and Chicago both levy additional taxes on gas and other purchases, while the outer counties - like where I live - do not.)

So count your blessings. I would gladly pay $3.699 a gallon for gas, instead of $4.05.

The Rust Belt has "heartburn," and California... ouch.
Carpe Navi: Because you never know when you'll get to go boating at government expense again.

You said it, pal. If I didn't need my car so much, I'd seriously consider trading it in for a bicycle.
