    The Phineas & Ferb thread-inator

DCOM starts at 8. I thought it was time.

I'm really looking forward to this. The promos have looked pretty good.

One thing I'm not feeling 100% on: Disney's started teasing some red meat for Phineas/Isabella 'shippers. I mean, come on; they're like 10, aren't they?

Well, so was Ben Tennyson of Ben 10, but that didn't stop his writers from having him fantasize about rescuing a bus full of cheerleaders and crush on a Navajo girl...

Back to P&B - is this show supposed to be just a mid-series special a la ASiT, or the series finale? The show seems to young to be cancelled already...

Speaking of ASiT, does anyone get a similar vibe that they got from ASit? I mean, alternate versions of themselves, the bad guy taking over, current versions helping deal with the timeline/dimension where the bad guy won? Just saying

No - the selves they saw in ASiT were there past and future selves, not their selves from a different timeline.

    My verdict:

I wish they'd found a way to include Vanessa Doofenschmirtz in the movie, though. She's one of my favorite characters.

I was wondering about her myself. Why didn't they include her in the film?
And I agree with your verdict 100%!

Well, I kind of thought they went that direction with P&F when the evil guy (Doof, of course) took over everything with the "Quantum Boogaloo" 2-part shows

Well, yeah. But's it's kind of amazing and troubling in a way too, that they're starting so young. I just saw this movie called "Crazy, Stupid, Love", which BTW I found quite enjoyable overall, but one of the subplots of the movie was about a 13 year old boy having a major crush on his 17 year old babysitter.

ABSOLUTELY! Vanessa is by far my favorite character. In fact I wonder exactly who Ferb's wife in the future will be. (*hint, hint*) From "Quantum Boogaloo", we all know Isabella will be married to one of the brothers, but we also know which one that will be.

Yes, I agree. It was a lot like ASIT. The finale showdown was a lot like So The Drama as well (flying Diablo Devils). Can't help thinking of Kim too, when I see all the butt kicking world-saving red haired teenage girl stuff going on......

    Smile Saw the movie today...

Well, that was only the alternate Candace (who had been fighting for several years...)

Also, was it just me, or did we spend more time in the alternate dystopia than ASiT: Future did? AT2D seemed to flesh things out a bit more...

According to the P&F Wiki site Vanessa was written into the movie, but her scene was deleted. I wonder if it will show up on disc?

    EDIT: Yes, apparently it does.

I just searched the WMass public library database, and there are six libraries acquiring copies. Guess who's now 3rd in line to borrow one?
