Re: Merry Christmas to All!
Darn, I'm late! anyway, Feliz Navidad to you all! The thing is that, in Spain, we have the big family dinner, singing stuff and that the day after Christmas, that we call Nochebuena (literally, the good night). And on Christmas we gather the other part of the family for lunch, but its more of a quiet day rather than a celebration party, thus I forget that the rest of the world actually celebrates christmas day and not the day before it!!

Merry Christmas to you to, tweeb! As my family came from Cuba, we celebrated Christmas much the same way. We would have a huge party and dinner late on Christmas Eve, with all our friends, and then we open all our presents that night as well, not on Christmas Day. As in Spain, in Cuba we also have a much more quiet day on Christmas Day itself, usually with just the family, going to Mass or Church in the morning, and then a good meal afterwards with all the relatives.

A belated Merry Christmas to all!
BTW, the pic of little Nellie wearing the "My First Christmas" jumper reminded me of an interesting bit of trivia: No matter what day of the year you're born on, even if you were born on Christmas itself, you will always celebrate more Christmases than birthdays over the course of your lifetime - one more, to be exact.
Think about it - you'll have your first Christmas before your first birthday, so if you live to be 100 years old, you'll have celebrated 100 birthdays, but 101 Christmases.

Well, in my case, if I made it to my 101st Christmas, I'd have just five days to go to my 101st birthday!

What if I "buy the farm" after my birthday but before Christmas some year? Wouldn't I have celebrated the same number of Christmases and birthdays?
