BTW, the pic of little Nellie wearing the "My First Christmas" jumper reminded me of an interesting bit of trivia: No matter what day of the year you're born on, even if you were born on Christmas itself, you will always celebrate more Christmases than birthdays over the course of your lifetime - one more, to be exact.
Think about it - you'll have your first Christmas before your first birthday, so if you live to be 100 years old, you'll have celebrated 100 birthdays, but 101 Christmases.
What if I "buy the farm" after my birthday but before Christmas some year? Wouldn't I have celebrated the same number of Christmases and birthdays?
You may be right about that. I just figured it out, using my father's lifespan as an example. He was born on July 12, 1932 and died June 5, 1989 - a month and a half short of his 57th birthday. In 1988, he turned 56 then celebrated his 57th Christmas. If he'd died after July 12, 1989 but before Dec. 25 of that year he'd have indeed celebrated the same number of Christmases and birthdays.
I guess it all really depends on just when you die - if you die before your birthday but after Christmas, you'll have more Christmases than birthdays. But if you "shuffle off these mortal coils" after your birthday but before Christmas, you'll have the same number for each day.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. LUKE 2:8-11
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, Everyone!
