Season 5 this spring! Aw yeah!

Finally got around to seeing EQG 2 a few weeks ago on Netflix.

("Under Our Spell" was my favorite song from EQG2. Like, whoa. The power-cord battles were like something out of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. And I’m a sucker for montages. ~_^


One of my favorite moments was how they matched up Octavia’s bowing to the beat at 1:05. Like, holy cow that’s good. Megan McCarthy and others in the movie commentary said they tried to make the instrument-playing as real as feasibly possible, and their effort really shows - to the point it sets up an Easter-Egg at 1:10. Lyra and BonBon are playing the opening bars of the iconic MLP theme song!)

Haha! that movie is soo unexpectedly good, suddenly, BAM! it's there and you enjoy it. I love that they made EG like that fan-made episode, Double Rainboom, where they can hit us with references form the fandom (Lyra and Bombom are touching cheeeks aaaaaaaaah!) without feeling forced or that they want to appeal to the brony fandom so much it takes away the objective of making a show targeted at little girls that it's good and can appeal to everyone.

BTW do you like blind reactions and commentaries 'Chutes? I recommend you Cobaltsky and Soundspeed commentary about EG2, it's pure gold gold! I still watch it from time to time, also ACRacerbest commentary/review is really good, and a lot of the "famous" people form the fandom are there and they throw really good jokes.

Gotta say that when DFC aired Rainbow Rocks, I was a bit disappointed by the trims they made - especially cutting out the closing credits song. Thankfully I had the BD/DVD version in my hands soon afterward (along with the Season 4 DVDs soon after that). In any case, I'm still enjoying all of it.

Now, though, it's time for the Season 5 hype train, thanks to the latest trailers!

So Hasbro dropped some new Rainbow Rocks music videos yesterday and I can't get enough of them.

The animation and lighting and instrument details they put into these are just fantastic.
