Art Theft
This warning is only for those who still have an active dA account:
There is a guy on deviantArt under the name CfyCfysx1992. He is an art thief who steals other people's works and then either mutilates them or traces over them and calls them their own. He already stole KP-related pictures from about half a dozen of KP-artists (including me), so if you find your picture (or part of it) in his gallery, do not hesitate to report him.

We'll be on the lookout, although to be truthful, not that many of us go to dA that much. Secondly, this is a problem we have run into before with dA artwork so we've allways been a little leary of anything that comes from that site.

That is very word, how can somebody do this? Each art on DeviantArt is unique and not to copy. Therefore we need to be careful.

Re: Art Theft
Sadly, i had this happen to before too. Several of my Dragon Ball Z pictures from dA (my profile page is the same as my user name on here) were stolen and posted on a video on Youtube...I'm not even sure how I stumbled on this but, I was just floored that someone had the audacity to steal my work and then clamed it as there own. I sign all my pieces when I finish and could clearly see it was my signature. So, I took all the pieces down and re-posted them with watermarks. Not sure if the watermarks will stop it but, who knows.

People I know on dA are against watermarks, they say it just ruins the picture.

The best thing is to keep an original copy of your artwork on your computer in a back-up file. When you right-click on each picture's icon in that file, it should list the date the file was originally created under "Properties.". If worst comes to worst, you can always use that date to back your claim that someone plagiarized your work.

I agree, It does but, I tried to put the watermark in an area where it wouldn't be on the picture or at least ruin it to bad. But, I dont have the time to be on the internet all the time looking for theifs and dealing with where ever my work has been stolen... going though the process of having it removed.
