Ooooohhhh.....I gotta get me a copy of that one. Sir Simon Rattle and the Vienna Philharmonic; Ludwig Van Beethoven, Symphony No. 9, the Choral Symphony, but I didn't get the names of the soloists.

What with all this discussion about classical music, I'm almost embarrassed to admit I was just listening to I'll Always Love You by Taylor Dayne, from 'way back in 1988.

No need to be embarrassed, TWD. Campy and I are just simply two aficionados of the classical style, and there is simply just a certain way to identify and speak about the works to which we listen. That was one of Taylor Dayne's best songs BTW. She has a heck of a voice. Now I wonder if you seen this phenomenon.......

    ........that is something, isn't it?

After seeing that YouTube video, all I can say is: Wow.
What a voice!! That kid's got talent, all right. Her performance of that Janis Joplin song is proof positive of that!!
(-That was a song by Ms. Joplin she sang, right? I'm not familiar with her works...)
I mean, one minute, she's this shy teen-aged girl on stage; the next she practically explodes with energy as she belts out that song!!
That reminds me of a quote I read once: "To reveal one's self openly and honestly takes the rawest courage." (Author unknown)

Actually it was an Otis Redding song, but I believe she sang it the way Janis would have done it. Did you see the look on Tyra Banks' face? Wasn't that priceless?
