The low tonight is supposed to get down to -13 °F. It's -3°F right now.
Meanwhile, a friend of my mom's living in Florida is complaining about 47° weather. And this is a guy who's originally from Michigan!

Hold down the ALT key to the right side of the spacebar and type 0176 on the numeric keypad. Then release the ALT key. Or open the Windows Character Map program and copy & paste it in. Originally Posted by TransWarpDrive

Alternatively, copy-paste from another page, which is what I did in this case. (I would usually use the Character Map, though.)
I told my mom I'd be happy with 37° at this point!

For special characters: I usually just go to a Wikipedia article on temperature and copy-paste the symbol from there.
Or if I've got Word up, I'll use the insert function, put the degree symbol on the page, and copy-paste.
