This morning I bought three more shelf units for my basement at the condo. Now I'm finally getting my storage organized down there.

I paid another visit to my storage cubicle on Saturday. I brought home a dozen or so boxes to go through. Several of them were emptied right into our recycling bin, being filled with stuff I didn't need any more - tin, plastic, and glass kitchen/dinner ware. Got rid of a lot more old magazines I'd stashed and forgotten about. I also took some old electronics to our local Best Buy for recycling.
I'm not quite ready yet to move into a smaller cubicle, but I'm getting closer. I still have a few boxes in storage that I need to go through. There's also some stuff yet that I want to get rid of. Once I dispose of those items, I'll be in a better position to move all that I'm keeping into the new unit.
I'm also thinking about returning some things to storage - there's just no room at home for them. Once I'm set up in the new unit, I'll take those items back - this time in secure plastic storage tubs with snap-on lids (better protection from dust than a cardboard box).
I also did my laundry, balanced my checkbook, and paid some bills on Sunday.
Sounds exciting, doesn't it?

We had another meeting with the "suits" who run the practice. Of course, they are also doctors who are retired and simply got out of clinical work. But they do have a different point of view. So far, things to be running close to expected. Judging from our progress, I may last until the end of the year. Whenever I do leave the practice, I think they will try to use me as a Locum Tenens every now and then, (that's the same as a temporary fill in worker to take care of patients and cover a doctor who is on vacation or away from the practice for a short time.) I'll be like you, TWD!

Happily, I'm still working at my current assignment. I think I'll be here awhile; last Friday the company bought us all pizza for lunch to celebrate a profitable March. While we ate, the big boss told us that we can expect a lot more work from clients he's got lined up - in fact, they'll be hiring more people to handle the projected workload! And this coming summer, they'll be moving the company into a larger facility practically next door to where we're located now - bigger layout, and easier access to a loading dock for delivery of files to be scanned. And I got the impression from this temp agency that their workers generally go "temp to hire," meaning that after a short time as a temp, the client company hires them on permanently. Please, God, let that happen to me.....

Latin makes it sound impressive, though. Sources tell me Cicely, Alaska has an opening.........

Actually, you're right, though if the town actually existed, they'd looking for primary care. As a specialist, I would have no use up there without a dialysis unit nearby, the nearest being Fairbanks on Highway 8.
Praying with you on a permanent job, TWD. In nomine patri, et fili, et spiritu sancti........

Thanks for the prayers regarding my job sitch, jeriddian. Let's hope the Man Upstairs is listening.
Anywhoo, yesterday I brought more boxes of stuff home from the cubicle to go through. I ended up filling two more boxes of magazines for recycling, and generated a couple bags of outright garbage. I also half-filled our recycling bin (again!) with glass and metal kitchenware I no longer want or need (stuff left over from the apartment I shared with the ex-fiancee). I think I'm about ready to move into a smaller space now; just about all the stuff left in there consists of things I really, really want to keep (like my KP merchandise collection, for example). It's just a matter of going to the storage office and asking about getting a new cubicle.
And today I'm doing my laundry.

Since warm weather is coming to my little corner of New England soon, today I put screens back in the windows at the condo. I had a bit of trouble with some on the first floor until I realized the trick was to get the top of the screen seated in its channel first, then get the bottom in.

I feel really sick right now. I just discovered that a good friend of mine has died. Stupidly I had not heard from him since last spring and he died shortly after. I onlyknew him though the internet and talked via email for 12 years. There were long gaps sometimes but still... We met in a KP group, and were both big time fans. Not sure where else to mention this, been trying to get ahold of him for months so that's not going to happen. The anti depressants I take make it nearly impossible to feel grief right now, so all I get is a headache. Sorry to disturb anyone about this, I just will really miss talking with someone who understood mental illness and how my mind (mis)operates

Last Sunday night I dropped to the floor, the EMTs came and hauled me off the ER where they diagnosed me with a bleeding ulcer. Got back home the other day and now the knee replacement is put off again They have a date (May 10) for the procedure, but I have to pass a blood test first sooooo I get to schedule that today.
