Disney is seemingly synonymous with truly iconic and incredibly entertaining animation, and when you take a look at just a few of the smash hits that Disney has released over the last few decades, it’s easy to understand why. One show that had a huge impact on people, and in reality had much more of an impact than the creators could have ever possibly envisioned, was Kim Possible. Kim Possible was a show that not only entertained audiences of all ages and genders, but it was also a show that really helped pave the way for kick *** female heroines. One question that all Kim Possible fans want to know however, is whether or not there is a future for the show. Well, let’s take a look, shall we?

Kim Possible – For those of you who are unfamiliar with the show, or for those who have simply not seen it in that long, Kim Possible was an animated US show which centred on Kim Possible, a teenage crime fighter who not only had to fight crime and seemingly save the world on a weekly basis, but she also had to deal with the general everyday goings on associated with being a teenage girl growing up in the US. The show itself ran from the year 2002 – 2007 and it is one of the longest running original animated series on the Disney channel. Kim is often accompanied by her dim-witted sidekick Ron stoppable, who later goes on to become her boyfriend. Kim was voiced by Christy Carlson Romano, whereas Ron was voiced by Will Friedle. The show ran for 4 seasons, and also did a crossover with Lilo and Stitch.

Is there a future? – Although it has been nine years since the final episode of the series aired, recent news and goings on have gotten Kim Possible fans pretty excited, and for good reason. To begin with, back in early 2015, Christy Carlson Romano gave fans a brief glimmer of hope as she recited her favourite lines and catchphrases from the show, on her YouTube channel. However, what has fans especially excited, is the fact that it is coming up to ten years since Kim left our screens, and there are rumblings that we could see some kind of reunion. Just a few months back, Will Friedle and Christy Carlson Romano were reunited during the Rhode Island Comic Con so things are certainly moving in the right direction. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but it certainly looks “Possible” pardon the pun, that we could very well see Kim and Ron on our screens at some point in the future.

I would like very much to see some new KP episodes - or even a movie - come out of Disney. But until the House of Mouse itself announces such a project is forthcoming, all we can do is keep interest in KP alive though media like this fan forum, and encouraging other folks to watch the show for themselves - especially now that Freeform cable channel (formerly ABC Family) is now running a 2-hour block of KP episodes on Thursday nights, from 11 PM to 1 AM (Central time).

All depends on what could make money. An obscene amount of multinational cash, and really fast.

Getting her a new show is not likely....if Kim were welcome on TV she never would have ended. And she couldn't come back without a massive "reboot" which IMO is a synonym for "suck". New writers, animators and VAs with no clue as to how the original show used to feel would step in. I (and many others) used to think *maybe* a Disney Channel KP animated feature would come out again someday when the iron was still hot around 2007 or so, but alas.

A big screen feature seems a long shot with all the other fancy stuff coming out already from Pixar. Aaand....I don't see a movie without it being yet another CGI treatment, or (shudder) a live action deal. Both film offerings would most likely be some form of "nostalgia" trip or a hip-hop "update" of Kim's world. Maybe KP could be a walk-on character in the next Disney Marvel movie or Disney Star Wars film?

Since Disney Infinity never got around to including KP (and never will), maybe develop a game people could play on cell phones?

Perhaps Im a bit more paranoid and sarcastic than I need be...but I don't have the same hope I use to ten years ago. But hey, like Bob Schooley said long time ago..."Never Say Never".

Of all the options here, I think the best one is still a full length feature movie, either for TV or theater. I based my fan fictions for exactly that possibility in fact.
