RIP Jerry Lewis 1926-2017
I heard on CNN that Jerry Lewis died this morning at age 91. He was a gifted comedian, a talented actor, a skilled director and an outstanding philanthropist - what with having raised all that money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association over the years. He also pioneered the practice of film directors using video playback when shooting a film, to decide whether or not to do another take of that particular scene (he received a patent for the idea).
He also had his own comic book - in the late 1960's, DC comics published a magazine with Mr. Lewis as the title character. It only lasted about a year or so.
I remember watching his films, and laughing at them, as I grew up.
He will be missed.....
