Read it several places. It seems to be a real thing.
Still subject to change, of course.

I always thought the next step would be a movie treatment. The only question now is whether it will be direct to TV or a theatrical release.
ADDENDUM: Well, the Hollywood reporter has confirmed the movie is being made. Casting is now underway. It will be a Disney Channel Original Movie for TV. McCorkle and Schooley are writing the movie along with Josh Kagan who wrote "The Duff". McCorkle and Schooley, along with Zane Devine who produced "Easy A" and I, Tonya", will be executive producers. The movie will be coproduced and codirected by Adam B Stein and Zack Zapovsky (sic?). These directors recently directed episodes of Disney's sci-Fi series "MechX4".

This is good news! I wonder how they'll do it live-action and still retain the "flavor" of the original animated series?
It'll be interesting to see who they cast as Kim and Ron. Also interesting to see what supporting characters, and villains, they feature in the film as well.

I hope they give larger roles to Kim's blonde cheer friends.

Most of the voice actors from the series won't be right for a live action movie, but I sure hope they get Patrick Warburton to play Mr. Barkin. He looks like him.

I hear that! He'd definitely be a nice touch.
With Mark and Bob involved, I'm going to hope for the best on this one.

Melissa McCarthy can still play DNAmy in live action.

I agree with MrDrP. They've just got to cast Patrick Warburton as Mr. Barkin.
