I had a busy weekend. Saturday my brother & I replaced our kitchen microwave, which inexplicably died last weekend after only two and a half years!! Then I did some weeding & digging around the house and in Mom's garden, moving plants she wanted taken out. Ran some personal errands then refueled my car Sat. afternoon; and today I did my laundry while I cleared out my junk e-mail on my computer (ignore your e-mail for just a couple of days, and see how much the stuff piles up...).
Now I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow. Bleh...

Yesterday Nana campy & I babysat the grandkids on mom's first day of school. Later we went out to dinner to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary.

Congrats on the anniversary, campy. My day continues to revolve around work, building up the practice. I'm not getting that many patients right now, but that's not too surprising. I'm going to have to spend time developing a reputation and getting word of mouth out there that I'm here. The good news is that unlike West Texas, my practice is growing, not shrinking, albeit slowly. I'm fixing up my mother's old curio cabinet, getting it to where it can hold some of the heavier pieces that could not be put in there before. I've just about got it in shape to put all the pieces in. Once I get it done I'll snap a picture.

The last few weeks at work, we've had to take several boxes back and forth in a cargo van. Not going to talk about why since I'd rather not get into details about work, but suffice to say it's been crazy.

Fortunately, I've got the whole next week off, since I scheduled this time off months ago.

Another busy weekend - helped my brother place some cement flagstones in Mom's garden for her on Saturday morning, then spent the rest of my day vacuuming the dust out of my room (hadn't been done in quite some time, let's just say). Under the desk; under the bed; under the dressers; and on the shelves displaying my models and knickknacks. I also took two models down to the basement for minor repairs (the glue dried up after all those years on certain pieces and they needed fixing before they got worse).
On Sunday I slept late, then ran some personal errands around the 'burbs.
Then today, I did my laundry and processed two more table orders for the Windycon dealer's room. I've only got 6 tables left as of today, and two of them I'm holding in case any other guests of honor want them (A third table I was holding went to our musical GOH's). And I'm still waiting to hear from my biggest bookseller, who earlier this past week assured me that her order form would be in the mail as of last Monday! Boy, will I be glad when the tables are all sold out....
Now I'm getting ready to go back to work tomorrow morning. Bleh....

I went to the doctor's office today to discuss my latest blood test. Good news - my PSA score's down to 1.9! The doc says he's very pleased with my progress, and I can stop taking the tamsulosin pills if I like (and so I'm stopping). My next Dr.'s appointment & blood test are scheduled for three months from now.
    - And it took me three days to do it, but I finally cleared all those file folders out of my in-basket at work! I have about a dozen waiting for their delivery orders, but the rest have been "closed off" and sent to the auditor. Maybe now I can tackle the backlog in the file room.....

I bought lunch for the office staff today, French bistro cuisine, La Madeleine of course, and we had a very nice sit down lunch. I finished at noon, getting Friday afternoons off, and then I went home and worked on the computer, doing 3D modeling on the dungeon from the game I played for the last forty years. The house is starting to look right. almost everything is put up in its place, although I still got to get the spare bedroom in shape as it's nothing but storage right now.

My Mom is dying. SHe has a few days, maybe hours. She became horribly sick and ended up airlifted to an ICU four hours away from home. I'm hopefully going there to visit this weekend. What do you wear, what do you say when you see your Mom for the last time ever?

At least I was able to speak very briefly to her via phone just after admittance. She said that I was going to be alright after she is gone. Before she hung up I told her I would see her later. I couldn't say goodbye. Just couldn't.

I'm so sorry to hear about this, BB. Hopefully. she may recover, but if that is not the case, I hope they make her as comfortable as possible. As a physician, I have been in this situation many times. It will be tough, but your mother is right. You will be okay. It will just take time, We are all here to help out any way we can, so don't hesitate to reach out. God bless you both.
