I received a number of DVDs for Christmas - Marvel's Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home; Disney's The Good Dinosaur and Toy Story 4; and the recent Dark Shadows movie starring Johnny Depp.
All of which were on my wish list - now I have to sit down and watch them all again....

I got the two Marvel movies, as well Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, Shazam!. and the Detroit Red Wings documentary, The Russian Five (along with the book of the same name on which the documentary was based).

Meanwhile, my mom got Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I saw that in the theater back in August, and thought it was a pretty entertaining bit of an alternate history story.

Agreed! Along with a few surprising plot twists that I never saw coming, this film makes an excellent conclusion to the Skywalker saga.
Now I wonder what they'll do in the next film....

Well, the unique thing about that is since the Skywalker saga is concluded, we really have no idea at all.....

I watched my DVD of Patton again last night. Good flick....George C. Scott always was a good actor - he earned his Best Actor Oscar for this role!
Interestingly enough, Mr. Scott refused the award (for some reason I don't recall right now), and his Oscar was donated by the film's producer, Frank McCarthy, to the George C. Marshall Foundation Library at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia, the same institution that generations of Pattons attended, and is on display there.

No recent movies seen recently. Eagerly awaiting the new ones coming up soon. As to George C Scott, he was the first actor to ever refuse an Oscar. The reason? He said the idea of the awards and the politics that enveloped it were “demeaning,” and painted the Oscars as “a two-hour meat parade.”

I've never seen those Avengers episodes. I only remember the ones with Diana Rigg.
