Today is going pretty good so far. Someone asked for a copy of something I wrote up like six years ago. It's kinda an ego enhancement thing that the national organization wants to take a serious second look at it. Soooo, pretty cool.

Cool! Evidently, they appreciate your writing skills. That's a high compliment, my friend.

Thanks, but it was a different kind of writing, it was more of a manual.

My second shot's June 4. I went with Pfizer. Got an appt. with my cardiologist on the 7th, so I'm going to need to check next week on whether he wants to move it because of the vacc. or keep it. Going to depend on how I feel, I guess. Also had to fill out a prospective juror's questionnaire. Looks like the federal court district I'm in is building a juror pool. Other than that, doing the retired thing--kinda sorta. Revising lecture notes for fall, setting up classic film club for campus, recuperating from surgery. Hoping that they'll amend or waive the course hour ceiling so that I can teach a summer course or two in B session, but not counting on it. Got some good news my morning email from college: They're giving employees who worked from March to Dec. of last year a stipend from Covid and another stipend for faculty and adjunct faculty who worked during Spring Break last year (like me) transitioning our courses to distant learning. We should be getting our stipend checks in the May paycheck. Talk about coming in at the right time!

Went to the clinic today to check to see if a big bruise that has caused swelling and pain on my left calf wasn't a blood clot. Thankfully, an ultrasound showed no clot. Probably torn muscle, so I'm taking it easy, resting, and keeping it on ice until my primary okays a prescription for a steroid pack--hopefully tomorrow.

Bought a car.
Mrs. campy gave up on the BMW idea, since it proved impossible to find one with the options we wanted. (Except for a brand-new one in Pennsylvania which would have run us over $56,000.)
We're buying a 2nd Volvo; a 2020 S60 sedan to go with our XC60. This one is South Carolina-built, not a true Swede like mine.

Wife had a Volvo once...about 40 years ago. I think her next one will be a Cadillac AWD sedan like next year. This one will have a 10 year, 150K mile warranty on it. She'll never get 100K on it.

Going to my nephew's graduation party/cookout today. He graduated high school on Monday, but due to school restrictions thanks to covid, he could only have four people watching--so it was Mom, Dad, and grandparents.
