We had our weekly day of watching our grandson today. He watched a lot of TV.

Not a bad Sunday. Nice and quiet. Revising lecture notes tomorrow.

Welp went to the dentist to have the tooth put in, but the lab made it wrong so I get to go back in about a month.

Wow. We are already on volume XIX? Cool. A heads-up work day. Nice weather. Nothing much happening.

Revising lecture notes for fall and beginning work prepping to sponsor a classic film club for campus for this fall. Right now, I'm slated to teach 3 courses in fall, but am hoping they'll tack on a 12 week course later on. Semester doesn't begin until late August, so there's time. Got in my spring student evaluations and they were positive, so I'm feeling good about that. Will be getting my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on June 4. Didn't have any side effects from dose one, so I'm optimistic about dose 2.

Hope nothing big happens today, I'd have to make room for it on my calendar.

I got my second Covid shot today! I got to the place ahead of my scheduled 8:40 AM time slot, and they took me right away. I felt no immediate side effects from the shot after 15 minutes, so I was off & on my way to work.(As a result of the appointment, I only worked 6 hours today, but it's worth the loss in pay to ensure my health & safety.)
Right now, I'm sitting here typing my post on my new desk! Yeah, the old one was falling apart - got it at a yard sale back in '94, and its top drawer no longer stayed in the desk by itself whenever I opened it, so I ordered a new one on Amazon. The new one's about an inch or two taller, four inches wider, and a good six inches deeper than the old one. So I have more room on my desktop for my monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer. And the computer tower has its own little shelf, down & to my right, so I don't have to sit it on a footstool any more! The desk didn't come with drawers, but I solved that problem by buying a plastic drawer set - three high - at my local Target store. That sits under the desk to my left. I'm very pleased with my purchase; I needed a new desk for some time now, and I finally got up the gumption to go on-line & order the crazy thing. It only cost me 70 bucks, too, and it has a steel frame with a pressboard top & shelves. So it's far stronger than that rickety old desk I just got rid of was - heck, that desk was already old & beat-up when I bought it back in the day! I think I paid ten or twenty bucks for it - I don't remember, but I definitely got my money's worth out of it! But now it's been hauled off with the rest of the trash, and I'm ready to move on with the new desk.

Whoooooo hoooo, we've been fully vaccinated 6 weeks. I had more side effects from the first Pfizer shot than the second. And that was feeling 'bleh' for about 4 hours.

I stayed home from work today because I felt tired & achy from my second Moderna vaccination. My brother experienced the same symptoms from his 2nd shot earlier this week. My boss at work was cool about it; after I had my first shot she actually encouraged me to take the day off after my second if I felt "bleh," so I did.
