This afternoon I treated the three-meter-wide shelf unit in my loft with lemon oil ... which involved clearing all the objets d'art from all 17 shelves so I could hit every visible teak-veneered surface. It looks pretty good now considering it's about 35 years old.

We had our weekly day watching our grandson today. We took him to a local playground in the morning.

The day was quiet and fine, I got chapter 92 of book 2 of 'The Hunter' out to Dyke for editing. Got started on chapter 93. Went out to dinner tonight. All in all productive. Order some parts for my guitars too.

I vacuumed the condo. I also hooked up our Volvos to the battery conditioner to top off their charge.

I laundered our bathroom towels and did some other cleaning around the condo.

I went to America's First Public Library and borrowed a few CDs.

Done with the semester. Final grades are in and now we're in summer mode. Trying to keep the AC off as much as possible to keep the utilities bill down, but I'm not going to be able to do that much longer. The mornings have been nice and cool and it really only starts to get uncomfortable in the late afternoon and the humidity's been pretty low, but soon it'll be 90 degrees before noon and it'll be super-humid. Waiting on an online application I put in for a summer tutorial job to make a little extra money. Holding off on filing for social security until I decide to pull the trigger on my pension--I want to wait a couple more years before I do that--have to see how health looks--so far, so good. Just had an echo today and I'll know the results next week. Catch ya'll later!

I loved touring that library when I was in Boston those years ago, campy. Gradually organizing my garage. Writing a page or two here and there to the novel. Getting work done. I interviewed for a new position at my job. I'll see how it goes.

Agreed, the library in Boston is nice — but the first public library in the country (by some definitions) is the one in the town I live in, which was seeded by 116 books given to us by Benjamin Franklin.
Today I went to the grocery store and the pet supplies store, and also to the farm for eggs. Soon I will get my hair cut, and after dinner we have the annual meeting of the condo association to attend.

Got an interview with the tutorial service on Thurs. Been reading the reviews on it--it seems tailor made to what I'm looking for: Total flexibility--I can work as much as I want when I want. I'm just looking for a little something for the summer to help out with some bills. I'm not looking for a full time job with a fixed schedule. The pay's on the low side, but that's okay--for me, the flexibility is more important right now.
