    The Planets by Gustav Holst, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra led by Sir Colin Davis.

    Also Piano Concerto #1 by Franz Liszt, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra led by Jaime Martin, soloist George Li, which I saw live. An excellent performance.

    Taras Bulba, a rhapsody for orchestra by the Czech composer Leoš Janáček. Jakub Hrůša conducting the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra in a 2011 Supraphon recording. (The rhapsody had its premiere in 1921 in Brno.)

    "The Girl From Ipanema," music by Antonio Carlos Jobim and English lyrics by Norman Gimbel. Performed on the 1963 jazz album Getz/Gilberto by Astrud Gilberto, who passed away yesterday at the age of 83.

    Requiem in D minor, K. 626 by Mozart. Herbert von Karajan conducts the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Vienna Singverein choir, with vocal soloists Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Agnes Baltsa, Werner Krenn and José van Dam.
