8 AM Ian track: Still making tracking for a landfall north of Tampa. If it maintains that course or--worse--shifts more to the east, I'll definitely be feeling the effects of the storm where I live. Right now, we're looking at rainfall and some gusty winds, but nothing overly serious--again provided it doesn't go further east or, heaven forbid, do a Charley. Keeping a close watch and fingers crossed. Weds. and Thurs. are going to be the big days. Could be a long weekend upcoming. Next update at 11 AM

Now it's sunny and 61° here. I'm hoping for a last chance to sunbathe out on the deck before next spring; temps should be more than high enough, but Mr. Sun gets lower in the sky every day.

We're not going to get low 60s evening temps until the end of October. Right now top priority is Ian. As of 11 AM there hasn't been any real changes. Weds. maybe Tues. night will be the big nights. Hoping for the best! Also looking forward to getting back to walking on some of the local nature trails and the Bok Tower sanctuary when the temp drops. It's just too hot during the day right now.

Well, I got out in the sun for a few minutes, but there were too many clouds to enjoy the sunshine. I guess our December & February cruises will be my next opportunities to soak up some rays.

December can sometimes be pretty chilly and sometimes pretty warm where I'm at. I've seen the temp on Christmas day go down to the low 20s and I've also seen it hit the high 80s. Just got the 2 PM update. No change in track and we're now under a tropical storm watch and a hurricane statement's been issued. My sessions at the tutorial center I work at has been cancelled for the week and I'm watching to see if Tues. face to face class at the College is cancelled or not. If it isn't, the students get Woodrow Wilson and WW 1.

We're not sailing from Florida in December; we start in Puerto Rico and head south.

    Sunny and 72° this afternoon.

Weather should be nice for you then. It's 95 here now.

Update 5 PM track: Not good news. They moved it a little more to the east where it's skirting the north coast of Tampa Bay before hitting landfall around Homosassa Springs. Keeping fingers crossed.
8 PM Update: They haven't moved the track yet, but the spaghetti models aren't looking good. I'm still teaching my F-T-F class tomorrow, but I'm making attendance optional and will end it early. Next update at 11 PM.
5 AM Update: Bad news, they shifted the track to the east, as things stand now it's going to pass to the north of me. Looking at winds of about 45 mph on Weds night/Thurs. Got important stuff packed and, if it looks bad, will take stuff and computer and go to my sister's house. Not going into panic mode though--checking constantly with weather updates. But right now, it's not looking good. I'm glad I don't live in Tampa anymore. If that track holds, Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater are going to get pulverized.

8 AM advisory: No change from the 5 AM one, but that's to be expected. If you're the praying sort, send out a few prayers to the people in the Bay Area, and if you're not, give them your best wishes. This is going to be a rough one.
